Students for Life Action Applauds the Montana Senate for Protecting Life with FOUR Unique Approaches to Pro-Life Law

Reported on behalf of our sister organization, Students for Life Action  FIRST, STATE LEGISLATIVE EFFORT of Students for Life Action headed to Governor’s Desk for Signature – A Law to Protect Women and the Preborn from Dangerous, On-line Distribution of Chemical Abortion Pills    “Too much of the debate over abortion allowed by mainstream media focuses on whether abortionists want to be bothered by laws that help women and the preborn. Their inconvenience is irrelevant,” said Hawkins. “Women have died when taking Chemical Abortion Pills and abusers have slipped those drugs to women against their wishes. Preventing those horrors is

Onesie Display

Does your school need a wake-up call? Hosting a display that shows the how many lives are really affected by abortion is a gentle and peaceful way of informing your peers why it’s important to take a stand for life! Sometimes, our peers just don’t understand the amount of lives taken by abortion each day. It’s our job to let them know.

SFLA Resources to Request from your Regional Coordinator:

  • “Fetal Development” topic cards
  • “What has Roe Done?” topic cards
  • “Apologetics 101” training

Steps:

  1. Start collecting onesies!
    • Tell local organizations about your upcoming display. For example, if you want to display 300 onesies, each one representing 10 lives lost to abortion, you will need help collecting each one. Ask local churches to advertise the display and ask different group members to pick-up collected onesies from the church. Invite participating organizations to check-out the display when it is up.
    • Send group members to Goodwill and other thrift stores to purchase discounted onesies.
  1. Reserve a space for the display.
  • A high-traffic, outside area, is best for your display due to the space you will need. Try to put-up the display on a few different days, for different class schedules, so you can reach the most students. SFLA recommends before school, during lunch, and after school.
  1. Figure out the logistics of the display.
  • If your space has two columns or pillars, you can tie multiple clotheslines between them for displaying the onesies. Or, fill 5 one-gallon buckets with sand and stick poles in each. Then, tie the clotheslines to each pole. Each onesie will need two clothespins, or you can use one clothespin to pin two onesies (the right arm of one and the left arm of the next one). Be sure to test before the big day and prepare for wind!
  1. Create flyers.
  • Ask one of your artistic group members to create quarter or half sheet flyers for the display. Double-check that the flyers explain what each of the 300 onesies represents (10 lives lost from abortion in the US each day). Include post-abortion resources and your local pregnancy help center information. Include ways students can get involved with your group at the bottom; next meeting time, social media, email, etc. Make plenty of copies to post around campus.
  1. Organize workers for the display.
  • Ask members to sign-up for shifts to run the display. You need at least two members present at all times. Set-up and take-down will require multiple people to help. You will want to set-up at least an hour before the start time.
  1. Host the display.
  • Today is the day! Your hard work is about to pay off! As you give flyers to students passing by, smile and say, “Here’s some information on our display!” If someone is upset and angry, stay calm. Remember, you don’t know their story. They may have experienced abortion directly or indirectly. You are representing your group, Students for Life of America, and the pro-life movement. Be loving, be kind, be truthful and your display will touch many people.

Then, what do you do with the onesies?

After completing the onesie display, either hang onto them for a future display, or donate the onesies to your local pregnancy help center. It’s a win-win for everyone!
