Yet Another Abusive Man Slips Pregnant Girlfriend Abortion Pills without Consent

  In Japan, an investigation is underway after 21-year-old Jin Mimae allegedly snuck his 18-year-old girlfriend two separate doses of Mifepristone, the first of the two-drug chemical abortion regimen. This drug kills the preborn child by blocking progesterone, a necessary pregnancy hormone. The child’s mother was about 5 weeks along and, unsurprisingly, became sick after being unknowingly drugged. The abortion attempt succeeded in October 2020. Tokyo Reporter wrote: Upon his arrest on suspicion of attempted abortion without consent on February 22, Mimae admitted to the allegations. “I didn’t want to marry her,” the suspect was quoted by police. “Because of

Movie Discussion Questions

 

We encourage you to always follow a pro-life movie viewing with a facilitated discussion about it. The following are suggestions for group discussion questions. Use them as a guide to help your group thoughtfully engage the material in the film and gain a deeper understanding of how to respond to the concerns & reflections of your peers.

Questions

  • What is the message of this film? How does it communicate the pro-abortion or pro-life message?
  • Do you agree or disagree with any parts of it? Why?
  • Did you learn anything from this film or the actions of the characters? Discuss.
  • Was there anything you didn’t understand about the film or the actions of the characters? What was that?
  • What did you like best about the film? Why?
  • What did you like least about the film? Why?
  •  Did anything that happened in this film remind you of something that has occurred in your own life or that you have seen occur to others?
  • Are the film’s messages about abortion, adoption, or other life issues portrayed realistically and/or accurately? If not, what needs to be changed?
  • What factors influenced the characters’ decisions and opinions about abortion and other life issues?
  • As you watched the story progress, what were you thinking?
  • If you had a chance to ask a character in this film a question, what would it be?
  • What feelings did you share with any of the characters in the film?
  • If you could respond to the concerns, attitudes, and behaviors of any of the characters in the film, what would you say and why?
  • Did any of the characters in this movie make you angry? Discuss why.
  • Did you come to respect any of the characters in this movie? Who was it and why did you come to respect that character?
  • In what ways are the characteristics of the main characters like your own or those of someone you know? (For example, perhaps you can identify with the character of an abortion worker for his desire to help others, even though his method of helping is misguided.)
  •  Is the problem to be solved in the film familiar to you and your pro-life group in any way? If so, describe the similarities and differences.
