Open the Streets to Paint BLACK PREBORN LIVES MATTER in Front of Planned Parenthood!

SFLA & FDF are Calling on the Mayors of Washington D.C. and New York City “to celebrate the future of the community, beautiful children with endless potential who deserve the opportunity to make their mark in the world.”

WASHINGTON D.C. (07-22-2020) – Students for Life of America & The Frederick Douglass Foundation joined together to call on the Mayors of New York City and Washington D.C. to allow “BLACK PREBORN LIVES MATTER” to be painted on streets in D.C. and N.Y.C. in-front of Planned Parenthood abortion facilities “to make our voices heard on behalf of the preborn, so that they will have hope and a future.” Though only 13 percent of the female population, African American women make up 36 percent of all reported abortions. The influential grassroots organizations made their requests in letters sent to Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio today.

The letters note: “Having opened the streets of your city for public expression, Students for Life of America requests the opportunity to add our voices to those concerned about how people of color are treated in America. Black Lives do matter, born and preborn, as too many people are lost in America today from causes that should be addressed and prevented for their disproportionate impact on minority communities.”

In Washington D.C., SFLA and FDF have requested permission to paint “Black Preborn Lives Matter” on the 1200 block of 4th Street NE (in front of a Planned Parenthood abortion facility) at 9 o’clock in the morning on August 1, 2020.

In New York City, SFLA and FDF have requested permission to paint “Black Preborn Lives Matter” at the intersections of Bleecker Street and Motts Street, the location of Planned Parenthood, at 9 o’clock in the morning on August 15, 2020,

Calling on the Pro-Life Generation Nationwide:

Across the country, pro-life activists are also being asked to add their voices to the call for BLACK PREBORN LIVES MATTER to be included in the conversation about lives at risk.

On-going Black Preborn Lives Matter Campaign efforts will be taking place in the near future alongside other organizational partners including: Pro-Black Pro-Life, Relationships Matter, Human Coalition Action, The Restoration Project: Human Coalition, Created Equal, and others to be announced.

Each city has significant issues to address regarding the loss of pre-born life.

The organizations wrote in their letter to Mayor Bowser: “You must allow SFLA to paint its “Black Preborn Lives Matter” message. Your original decision to paint “Black Lives Matter” on the street is government speech. However, your decision to allow protestors to paint “Defund the Police” opened the streets up as a public forum. You are not permitted to discriminate on the basis of viewpoint in making determinations relating to public assemblies in public fora. The message of the pre-born will not be silenced.”

In New York City, more black babies are lost to abortion than born, yet “Planned Parenthood’s location has been renamed Margaret Sanger Square, and it is here that the risk of death by abortion should be acknowledged and addressed. The deadly legacy of abortion has robbed the city of potential, and it must come to an end to ensure the city’s future,” the organizations said in their letter.

In closing, SFLA and FDF said, “The Pro-Life Generation cannot be silent on the horrors of abortion. As Martin Luther King Jr. once said, ‘Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.’ We are asking to make our voices heard on behalf of the preborn, so that they will have hope and a future.”
