Get out your tissues for this one. During a Q and A session at Southern Methodist University, where Kristan Hawkins was speaking to the YAF group as part of her “Lies Pro-Choice Politicians Tell” Speaking Tour, a pro-life student started a question by explaining how he had escaped an abortion.
After a contentious debate where a girl argued that poor people should have more abortions, this student stood up.
“I stand before you as a survivor of an abortion. My mom went to the abortion clinic, my dad stopped her, and here I am before you.”
Poverty does not justify abortion. Nothing does. Abortion does not make poor people richer. It doesn’t solve the problem they are facing. This brave student is just one of many who have experienced poverty and don’t wish abortion on anyone. In fact, they are incredibly grateful for the chance to live. Though you can’t see it in the video below, he also added, “Yes, there were some tough days and we didn’t have a lot, but I’m still glad for my life.”
We can only hope the pro-choice student arguing that he should have been killed looked at him and understood how horribly wrong (and cold) her position is.
