As Students for Life of America says frequently, Millennials are the Pro-Life Generation, since they hold views that are more in line with pro-life thought than generations before them.
And now we’ve got one more poll to add to confirm that the abortion industry is losing young people.
The Susan B. Anthony List released a survey yesterday from the polling co, inc./WomanTrend that showed 78% of Millennial voters support banning abortions after 20 weeks (that’s five months by the way) gestation.
A National Journal poll done two years ago showed 52% of Millennials held the same view.
Passing a federal bill that bans abortions after 20 weeks, when babies are known to feel pain, is a key part of the pro-life movement’s agenda with our new president, Donald Trump. He promised that he would sign that bill and with a pro-life majority in both the House and the Senate, there are no excuses for not making this bill a reality.
Typically, support for abortion drops drastically after the first trimester, even for those people who say they are pro-choice. Sixty-four percent of Americans think abortion should be illegal in the second trimester and that number jumps to 80% for third trimester abortions, according to Gallup.
There are only seven countries in the world that allow abortions after 20 weeks gestation and the United States is one of them. That is horrifying.
Other key demographics also support banning abortions after 20 weeks according to the SBA List poll:
- Women voters – 67 percent support
- African Americans – 70 percent support
- Hispanics – 57 percent support
