Today, on the eve of Tax Day, the Senate voted to continue taxpayer funding for Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion provider. While the House passed the Black/Roby Correction with bipartisan support, the Senate voted against it with no “pro-life” Senate Democrats voting to de-fund Planned Parenthood. This vote was not on Representative Mike Pence’s Amendment, but on the Black/Roby Enrollment Correction. Read the new fact sheet about this amendment here.
Even though Planned Parenthood continues to be funded, there will be more battles ahead as SFLA will continue to work with pro-life students to Expose Planned Parenthood on campuses across the country. And SFLA will be working closely to ensure that Planned Parenthood is de-funded in the 2012 budget that will be passed in September.
