Yesterday, LifeNews and LifeSiteNews revealed a new document showing a renewed connection between the U.S. Department of Justice (USDOJ), the FBI and pro-abortion groups. Planned Parenthood, National Abortion Federation, and Feminist Majority Foundation teamed up the USDOJ and the FBI to hold a training conference for local law enforcement authorities and abortion facility workers on violence from pro-life organizations.
The document from the August 25th meeting in Oregon shows that the organizations are now terming free speech activities by pro-life groups as “violent” and acts of “intimidation”. The so-called violence perpetrated by pro-life advocates mostly contained examples of constitutionally-protected free speech, including activities such as praying, providing women with options counseling outside abortion facilities, and peaceful protesting or picketing.
Matt Bowman, a top attorney at Alliance Defense Fund, told LifeNews that, “Abortion organizations have long lobbied to use the law to silence free speech activities. But in this seminar the FBI and USDOJ included those views in their own training seminar materials,” he added. “This raises serious concerns about the United States government investigating peaceful, legal free speech activity in efforts that are ostensibly aimed at violence.”
The document that was handed out at the meeting specifically lists the names of pro-life organizations and websites sponsored by peaceful, nonviolent groups, such as Students for Life of America, 40 Days for Life, Center for Bio-Ethical Reform, Concerned Women for America and National Right to Life.
